1. How does this License Eligibility service work?

The online License Eligibility service is a simple process.

Step 1: Login

Login by entering your:

  • Driver License or ID number,
  • Date of birth, and
  • Last 4 digits of your Social Security number (must be on file with DPS).

Step 2: View Requirements

View the requirements associated with your Driver License/ID card. There are 3 types of requirements that you may see:

  • Compliance Requirements, a table of your enforcement actions, enforcement dates, and compliance instructions.
  • Other Requirements, a list of additional requirements associated with your driving privilege.
  • Fees that can be paid online through this service.

Step 3: Review & Pay

Review the Fees. Enter your credit card information and select "Submit Payment."

Step 4: Receipt & Logout

Print your receipt and logout.

2. Who is eligible to use this service?

If you have a Texas Driver License/ID Card, you are eligible to use this service.

3. What information do I need to view my Compliance Requirements and pay fees?

You need:

  • Your Texas Driver License/ID Card,
  • Date of birth,

  • A valid credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express).

5. Which fees am I not able to pay online through this service?

This service does not accept payments for surcharge fees under the Driver Responsibility Program, court fees under the Failure to Appear/Failure to Pay Program, or insufficient funds fees for other Driver License services. 6. Can Commercial Driver License holders use this service?

Yes. Commercial Driver License holders can use this service to view Compliance Requirements and pay fees.

7. How much does this service cost?

This online service is provided by Texas.gov, the official website of Texas. There is no fee to access your Compliance Requirements; however, if you pay your Reinstatement fees online, the price of that service will include the applicable fee amounts as well as additional funds that support the ongoing operations and enhancements of Texas.gov, which provides this service in partnership with the State.

8. What are my payment options?

Payment must be made with a credit card. This service accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

9. What information do I need to make an online payment?

You must have a valid credit card. You are required to enter the following information:

  • Credit Card type (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express),
  • Cardholder Name and Billing Address, and
  • Credit Card Number and Expiration Date.

10. How do I know my payment was successful?

After submitting payment, you will be directed to a Receipt & Logout page that includes a Trace Number and the summary of fees you paid.

11. If I have multiple fees, can I pay them separately?

No. You must pay all fees at once; no partial payments are accepted.

12. Can I view my Compliance Requirements even if I have no fees to pay?

Yes. After logging in, you will see all Compliance Requirements associated with your Texas Driver License/ID Card.

13. Where do I mail the Compliance items that I cannot complete online?

Compliance items without fees required should be mailed to:

14. How long will it take to process the Compliance items that I mail in?

Allow DPS 21 business days to process your Compliance items. You may log in and view your updated Compliance Requirements list through this service.

15. Why am I ineligible to pay my fees?

You received the message, "You have made payments through this service within the past 72 hour period." If you used this service to pay your fees, you are unable to make another payment until 72 hours have passed.
